Every year CAALAS endeavours to engage particular sectors of the community by providing specific community development projects which aim at improving their education of prevalent legal issues affecting them and their families.

Justice Heroes Youth Justice Project To engage Aboriginal youth in Central Australia with preventative legal education which will allow them (youth) to use their creativity on an interactive and educational level.
Working with Aboriginal youth and service providers in Central Australia to create a series of comic strips relating to legal issues which can then be collated into one book and possibly onto other merchandise.

CAAMA Radio Legal Education Sessions: Many of the CAALAS lawyers, from all practice areas, have been involved in pre-recording legal education sessions on a variety of legal issues affecting Aboriginal people in Central Australia. The programs are scheduled to air on CAAMA radio between 1 to 2 times per week in the coming months. |

. Remote Outreach Service: Scheduled visits to remote communities to improve community understanding of legal issues. Both formal and informal legal education provided throughout Central Australia. Community members are encouraged to appraoch CAALAS staff in community to discuss legal issues and receive advice and education.

Previous Projects:
PAW Media: advertisements created by CAALAS on PAW Media in 3 local languages and English on the importance of coming to court and the dangers of bringing alcohol into prescribed areas. See our Education in the Media page to listen to the advertisements.
Marvin Characters: CAALAS worked with a local comic designer to create marvin characters for use in education materials. See above for some examples of the characters.
